Vin Diesel in great shape at 53

The Fast & Furious franchise is one of the biggest and most successful of all time, and just when people think it might be coming to an end, the franchise’s newest movies manage to get even crazier while still pleasing fans both old and new. It’s been incredible to watch unfold, and its place in history can never be questioned.

Vin Diesel is the primary star of the franchise, and after all these years, the action star still manages to stay in exceptional shape, leading fans to wonder how in the world he pulls this off.

Any person looking to be a major action star certainly needs to look the part, and one thing that Vin Diesel has always done better than most is look like an action star. While he was not nearly as bulky as he is now, Diesel has always been in exceptional shape, and this has played a huge part in his success throughout the years.

The Fast & Furious franchise is one of the biggest in history, and the movies constantly up the ante whenever they hit the big screen. Diesel has been the star from the very beginning, and he has transformed his body as the films have gone on. While he has put on a considerable amount of mass compared to what he had in the first film, he has also worked on having plenty of muscle definition, as well.

According to Diesel, “When I was younger, I was trying to gain as much weight as possible. Now, I focus on each body part to define it.”

This type of mindset has allowed the performer to get in excellent shape for his latest projects. Naturally, this type of dedication also comes with a workout routine that works for him.

Jacked Gorilla has done a great job of staying on top of Diesel’s workout plan that he uses to stay in shape while filming. The site goes into detail and breaks things down nicely for those that are looking to do the same. When speaking to Men’s Health, Diesel talked about the unique approach that he uses to working out.

“I shock the muscle with two sets of powerlifting and then go into higher-rep sets afterwards,” he revealed.

This approach of shocking the muscles is clearly working, as Diesel looks to be in top shape every single time he drops a new movie. During that same interview with Men’s Health, Diesel talked about the struggle that comes with remaining in shape while filming and how its affected his feelings about working out.

“I work out less and enjoy it more these days. It’s a time in my week where I don’t have to juggle things. I can just exercise and be present,” he said.

Diesel can spend up to 20 hours on set each day, according to Jacked Gorilla, meaning that he has to maximize what time he has away from the cameras in order to stay in shape. Clearly, the actor has found the balance needed to remain one of the biggest action stars of all time, raising the bar for those looking to keep up with him.

As great as it is that Diesel has a solid workout plan and the ability to juggle his busy schedule, it would all be meaningless if his diet wasn’t on point. This, along with consistency, is the most important aspect of Diesel staying in shape, and it should come as no surprise that his diet is pretty strict.

According to Gaspari Nutrition, “The basic principles of the Vin Diesel diet are simple: Avoid processed foods and lower your intake of fatty foods. It seems that this guy puts a lot of emphasis on eating a natural diet, and we find this to be a good idea. Processed foods are notoriously unhealthy, and some of them are basically just filler disguised as food.”

The site also goes on to chronicle what Diesel typically consumes during each meal of the day, breaking things down as simply as possible for those looking to do something similar to the action star. It won’t be easy, but over time, someone with the right motivation and resources can do it.
