Kalin Brothers: From the world of television to a phenomenon on social networks

Berdan and Kadir Kalin, at the time 9 and 13 years old respectively, were on stage on a television program to be evaluated by a jury as breakdance dancers.

At 18 and 22 years old respectively, Berdan and Kadir continued to do explosive breakdance and capoeira performances. At the time they said: "Our parents thought we had to show our talent to the world".

At the time, the Kalin Brothers triumphed in the world of talented television programs, where they even received two sim's by Karen Damen, Ray Cokes and Rob Vanoudenhouven at VTM. However, they ended up eliminated from the competition, something that did not discourage them: "We realized that we could lose, this is part of a game. We continue to practice breakdance and capoeira. Mom and Dad have always supported us. Mom encouraged us to play sports and dance, Dad would like us to go Thai boxing."

Berdan has a hairdressing degree, like a backup plan in case something could go wrong in the world of dance. Kadir shares the same idea.

On TikTok they are a real phenomenon: “We have fans all over the world, a total of 1.5 million followers. Therefore, we have to put new videos online regularly. This is quite time-consuming. A video lasts only 15 seconds, but sometimes we are working half a day to record it correctly. Well, we had fun with that. That's what counts."
